Okay, I love the 90s Sailor Moon anime. In fact, it was what got me into Sailor Moon. But I'm TIRED of fanatics acting like its the freaking Holy Grail of Sailor Moon and bash Crystal for being different from the 90s anime. FFS, the 90s anime was good, but its NOT perfect.
*The characters get their personalities reset at the end of every season.
*Rei an Usagi tended to argue for petty reasons (as much as I love Rei, she can be a bitch sometimes)
*Minako was too boy crazy (she's my favourite Senshi, mind you)
*Usagi's constant crying and running away from battles.
*Hotaru didn't get much screentime as compared to the manga. She doesn't even get a henshin.
*THE SAILOR STARLIGHTS! Why did they feel the need to change them? Even Naoko hated this change.
*Chibiusa was even brattier here.
*Mamoru Chiba. Just Mamoru Chiba. He pretty much useless here. He does save Sailor Moon a few times in the first season but he gets demoted to Dude in Distress quickly. Not to mention, he was such a jerk here.
*Usagi and Mamoru's relationship, while we're at it. They spent half of the first season bickering and suddenly, when they find out they were lovers in a past life, they hook up. Wtf?! And don't get me STARTED on the whole Breakup Arc.
*Believe it or not, the 90s anime also had animation errors. Here's a famous example.
Now yes, the manga and Crystal have some flaws too. No adaptation is perfect. I'm just saying that the 90s anime is not as perfect as some of you think.

Yup and SM ruined so much for girls shows. The whole story was essentially building up SM to be an OP Mary Sue. The main character = the best thing ever is so annoying and stupid! MLP FIM followed in this vain too. Also it showed that regardless of being lazy, bratty, and spoiled, Serena got to be the leader because destiny (not through any real effort). Everything was just given to her.
